![]() ![]() I don't mind if it's paid, in fact I would prefer that, because I want the company developing the product to be well funded and have an incentive to keep developing it further. I've done quite a lot of searching, both on this subreddit and on internet in general, but I don't see much of a consensus on the best app for automated expense tracking particular. The Goodbudget app is free to use for creating 20 envelopes, having one account user on up to two devices, tracking one year of transaction history, as well as debt tracking and community support. I am curious, for people who heavily rely on automated expense tracking for similar purpose as I described, what tool/app are they using? It is also clear the product is not under development, at least not this feature, because we are in 2023 and everyone and their grandmother is running machine learning models for exactly this kind of task: Repetitive category prediction based on various features such as name of the vendor and description of the transaction. It is clear it is not properly learning from my previous input I provided it. I heavily use the "automated rules" but they don't seem to really work. This is a full-fledged finance tracker app that lets you make and send invoices on the go. I am looking to switch away from Mint because it fails to categorize transactions which are clearly, textually (vendor & Description-wise), similar to others that I have already categorized, so I need to spend an hour a month manually going thru all transactions and I correct at least 30%. I don't use the other functions such as budgeting, investment management or anything else - I have spreadsheets for those. I use mainly its expense tracking function to semi-automatically categorize where all our transactions go, and then look at macro level where my family is spending money by category, how the trends are looking, and where are the biggest 80/20 opportunities for saving. I have been using Intuit Mint for 5 years ever since coming to the US.
